Weekend at the Cape

We spent the weekend at the Cape. A special thanks to Tim and Julie for their hospitality. I owe Mary a special spa treat at some point to thank her for her patience. I got to play golf, drink a beer or two and catch up with the boys pretty much guilt free. Isabelle fit right in with the boys and it was awesome to see her beat Mikey in arm wrestling, punch Dave in the nose, smile at Marc and Jay, chill with Bry at the beach, clean the floors for Tim and scoot for Kev.

Olivia, Julie, Mary and Isabelle went shopping and had some "girl time" as well. It was a fabulous weekend spent with our great friends.

Weekend of fun in the sun - sort of :-)

We had a great weekend. Mary and I went to the Sox game on Friday night. The Sox were playing the Cardinals and were honoring the Celtics. The rains came just as Lucky started waving the Celtics flag from the class duck-boat! Paul Pierce slide safely into second base and threw a "strike" to Varitek - well sort of! The Sox lost but Mary and I still enjoyed "date night".

Spent the rest of the weekend at the beach - well not literally but "a day at the beach is time well spent". The waves were large and the water was frigid! Isabelle loved the sand and got plenty in her diaper and mouth :-) She laughed at her crazy cousins as they dug to China and then got buried!

A happy belated Father's Day to Papa!! We all love ya! A special thanks to Nana and Papa for their wonderful Isabelle sitting skills allowing us to enjoy "date night"!! In addition, Happy Birthday to Peggy!!!

Father's Day

This weekend was Father's Day Weekend. Notice the use of the Weekend term :-) I used this time to do some items like mow the lawn, work on the Jeep, go to the "dump" and clean the house among other things. We spent Sunday at Grammy and Granpy's house hanging out and had a nice dinner. If I can be half the dad that my Dad is to me then Isabelle is a lucky girl. I am lucky enough to have a wonderful family, a great wife and a spectacular daughter that enables me to now "officially" celebrate Father's Day :-)

It's hot.......

The summer is starting to sizzle!! As a result, it was time to give Isabelle an "up do". Isabelle got a new summer hair style and seems to really love it. Our little "cave girl" became "pebbles like" over night as she tries to stay "cool". Isabelle also spent time in her kiddie pool - we learned she doesn't like to be splashed :-) and she made her first "official" trip to the beach. The water was really cold but Isabelle played with the sand and watched her cousins get into lots of trouble :-). We got to catch up with Danielle, Christina and Pete while relaxing at our little piece of heaven. The weekend also brought a time to celebrate Grammy's birthday (yes it was a big one). Happy Birthday to Grammy and we all love you! Enjoy the week and "stay cool!"

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a jam packed weekend full of friends, family and fun while never forgetting the real importance of this weekend. We received a visit from Paolo and Cecile and can't want to visit "Baby Paolo" in October. On Saturday we celebrated with Mark and Lisa at their wedding. It was fun to catch up with a lot of old friends from growing up. A special thanks to Nana and Papa for watching the "little one" while we partied it up. Our Sunday consisted of a trip west to visit our favorite "army" of kids :-). We had beers, burgers and brownie ice cream sundaes while listening to the neighbors parrot named Larry. Isabelle now wants two brothers, a sister and a parrot. On Memorial Day Isabelle watched her first parade and visted Grammy and Grampy. The weather was spectacular all weekend and we can now unofficially welcome summer :-) We thank everyone currently serving and who have served in our armed forces for giving us the opportunity to create memories like these - thank you for you service and dedication to our country.

Catching up....

We have been a bit delinquent with our blog posts but it has been for a variety of reasons. Last Sunday was Mother's Day as you all know and my wife spent it praying to the toilet! Following Mary's sickness, Isabelle got sick, then me, then my Mom then my Dad. So lets just say it has been a long week. A special thanks to Grammy and Nana for babysitting throughout the week - Isabelle had a great time. Mary and I attended our friends Tim and Sarah's wedding where Mary enjoyed seeing her college friends. We have attached a few of our favorite picks from the past week. Isabelle is really getting her unique personality and it is so much fun watching her grow up!!

We headed West!!

Last week, the family headed West for our first vacation. We spent time in AZ and CO visiting friends, relaxing and of course learning about time zone changes :-).

While in Phoenix we went to the zoo where Isabelle loved the giraffes, monkeys and rhinos! At the zoo, Isabelle had the opportunity to ride her first carousel and loved it!! Isabelle's had so much fun with her friends Bethany, Amelia and Juliana. They four of them spent hours playing and laughing. One of the hi-lites was our trip to Oregano's where the girls split the largest ice-cream cookie sundae in the world - yummmy!! In addition, we headed to Scottsdale for lunch and a nice tour through "old" Arizona. If the aforementioned wasn't enough, we were all witnessess to Juliana losing her first tooth!! We would like to thank Bethany for her out of this world generousity and thoughtfulness - it truely was a great AZ visit!

After AZ we jetted up to CO for a mixture of work and play. We hung out with Roger and Ricki at the ESPN sports zone as Isabelle caught up on some slept while Mommy worked.

We concluded our busy week by celebrating the marriage of James and Julia. Congrats and we had a great time celebrating your joyous day!

With all the action from last week, I think we all need a vacation to recover from our vacation :-)
