Happy Birthday Me!

Today Isabelle turned 1!! We had a fun morning with Isabelle playing, eating Crispex and singing! Isabelle had a Hoodsie for lunch with her friends and had a special dinner consisting of peas, carrots, a meatball and of course a CUPCAKE!!! Yes, she did eat the whole cupcake and was very proud of herself as the pictures show! We can't believe our little princess is 1!

Beach and Birthday!

These past two weeks have been a lot of fun......Last week we headed to the beach with our friends Fern and Kelly and their kids Julianna and Tyler. Everyone loved playing in the sand and riding the big waves. We were even lucky enough to get a photo opportunity with all of our niece and nephews! Pictures do speak a thousand words :-)

This past weekend I celebrated my 30th birthday and Mary threw me a party. Although the party was not quite a "surprise", the guest list was and I am truly appreciate every one's generosity and presence!! I feel I am a fine wine that only gets better with age :-)

We also uploaded some latest photos of Isabelle. She is getting so big and learning more and more tricks. She is walking with her push toys, chatting up a storm, getting her 5th tooth, and just a great kid.

Lots of Playing

This weekend was a busy one! A special thanks to Grammy for pulling a long baby-sitting day and night on Saturday as Mary and I went to Mark and Carolyn's wedding. Isabelle loved hanging out with you and showing off some of her tricks!!

We spent Sunday playing at the playground and sitting pool side with Isabelle's very own slide! This gave Mom and Dad the opportunity to relax and recover from the wedding :-)

We had a special treat on Sunday as we had dinner with Michelle, Tim, Elise and Joe! It was a great way to end a super fun weekend as we watched the kids play, laugh and of course cry together :-)

PMC Weekend!

Prior to PMC weekend we were lucky enough to be visited by Bethany!! Isabelle had an unexpected fabulous time with Bethany as she played, laughed and cuddled with Bethany!! We will miss her and the girls but will see them soon!!

Isabelle and Mary also had a chance to visit with Andrea. She flew in from Italy and we were able to catch up on Saturday. It was great to see you. We miss you !!

Another PMC weekend is in the books. They all continue to be special in their own way and this year was no different. A special thanks to Julie's parents for hosting us this weekend (sure beats a tent!) especially when the winds and the rains blow through Bourne!

PMC weekend is special to our family for many reasons.

From George's perspective: It is a weekend of recollection as well as helping to insure that Isabelle will never know what the word 'cancer' means personally. It is always so amazing and inspiring to see the thousands of people who are all touched by this disease unite for a common cause each weekend in August. Knowing that such powerful expressions can be made is a testament to the dedication of all those who participate. A special thanks to my "right hand girl (Mary)" as she is really the brains behind the brawn and the reason why this weekend happens logistically!!

From Mary's perspective: Every year I take away something new and different from PMC weekend. George and I were laughing during the long car ride home from Ptown, about how each year that we have been involved in the PMC together has been so different. The first year that I was involved in the PMC, George and I were dating. Year 2 we were engaged. Year 3, we were married. Year 4 I was VERY pregnant, and this year we welcomed our beautiful daughter into do the world of the PMC. We are so lucky to have this special event to look forward to every year because there are some people that we only see at the PMC. And I look forward to seeing those people and thanking them for doing the ride. George is "Living Proof" that the funds raised do save lives. And the fact that George survived cancer when he was young means the world to me. George is the love of my life and without him there would be no Isabelle. What makes me love George even more is the fact that he does the PMC ever year and he gives back to the people that saved his life. That is what makes Isabelle and I so proud of George (Daddy). We are all exhausted at the end of this physical and emotional weekend. But we all have smiles on our faces because we are happy to be healthy and together. Thank you to everyone that gave donations to George !

Dog Days of Summer :-)

We got lazy :-). Here are two weeks worth of posts!

Last week we headed to the beach with our friends Marc, Jill and Michelle! Isabelle loved seeing her friends and hanging out in the sand, sun and "blanket of fun". She loves her buckets, shovels and of course her sippy cup!!

This past weekend was a lot of fun as we headed to a "family reunion". As you might imagine, Mary's immediate and extended family is quite large!! It is amazing to see the connections and listen to the wonderful stories that span generations. If you look closely (second from the left in the first row) you will see Mary's Mom in the black and white photo. In addition, Mary's Nana is in the first row standing third in from the right! Amazing!

We have been enjoying our summer and as always it is going by too quickly!!

Horses, Pools and Stairs - Oh My!?

The weekend started out with a "bang" as Nana and Papa babysat on Friday for Miss Isabelle. We had a great time hanging out and talking about some of Isabelle's new tricks including crawling, more scooting, talking and even some standing up!

Saturday we headed South to RI to visit our AZ friends. Miss Juliana is now 6 years old!! Miss Amelia was so cute as always as she helped her "sista" celebrate the big day. As you can see from the pictures there was a lot of fun to be had including tours of CrumbPicker Cottage and amazing horse rides. Even the birthday girl's Nana got involved with the fun - cowgirl up!!

Sunday was spent lounging by the Grammy and Grampy's pool. Miss Isabelle took it all in from her "buggy". She was a bit cautious at first but really "warmed up" to the pool!! Another great summer weekend with family and friends!! Thanks everyone for the memories!

4th of July

Isabelle had a very busy holiday weekend. We were all over the place !!

First we headed up to Nana and Papa's for the annual fourth of July festivities. Although it was a rainy morning, Isabelle still enjoyed her first 4th of July parade. She loved the steel drum bands and bag pipers the most.

After the parade we headed to Pete and Christina's for a cook out. Isabelle bonded with Molly and is no longer afraid of dogs :)

Next we headed back to Beth and Bruce's for another cook out. As always it was a great time with tons of food and tons of family. Thank you for hosting this event every year. Isabelle loved playing with her cousins and some new friends. A special thanks to James for giving Isabelle her bottle. You are a natural. And thanks to Nana and Papa for letting us stay with you.

On Saturday we had some friends over for a cook out. Aside from a lost boccie ball we had a great time. It was great to see Tim and Jen. We can't wait until you move back North. Isabelle misses you guys.

On Sunday we relaxed in the morning and Isabelle tried out her new swing. Thank you for installing her swing Grampy !! She loves it and we will be spending many hours out in the backyard in that swing.

Then we headed to Will's first birthday party. Isabelle, Will, and Nora all got along very well. It was so nice to see all of the kids together. Will was a great host I think he enjoyed his birthday cake. Isabelle had her first few bites of ice cream. She seemed to enjoy it as much as Mommy and Daddy !!
